We invite you to check out the some of the latest LC designed duds at Grouse Mountain Outfitters, the ultimate destination for all your snow sport gear. Last weekend, the BC Lions captured the 2011 Grey Cup with a 34-23 win over the Winnipeg Bluebombers. Your trusted pals at LC were on hand to watch fans celebrate in style with some classy Leos fan gear (check out the Lions on-line store to score your very own quality merchandise). The Grey Cup victory (the 6th in Lions history) marked the second league championship for a Lower Case client in 2011 (the first was the Vancouver Canadians). Championships from both our professional sports clients in our first year ain't too bad, if we do say so ourselves. Now we're not saying there's a connection, but we're also not saying there's not a connection. We're just sayin'.

Your old pals at LC are excited to be consulting for the 2011 Grey Cup and BC Lions to manage seven merchandise locations throughout the 99th CFL Championship. The Grey Cup Festival, which includes dozens of events located at the Vancouver Convention Centre and BC Place, kicks off on Thursday. For more information on the festival, check out the Grey Cup website and, while you're at it, why not hit the official Grey Cup on-line store? Some of our favourite friends are performing during the festival, including Colin James, the Cancons, Aaron Pritchett and, of course, your BC Lions. There will be a variety of stages, dozens of great performances, a kick ass parade, and tons of free entertainment. Heck, stop by and pick up a souvenir while you're there.

Howdy friends. We have a new website and we invite you to check it out. It's often been said that lowercaseltd.com is the single most indispensable site on the web, and we couldn't agree more. Now you can stay in touch with Lower Case 24 hours a day (except between noon and 2pm on Tuesdays). Whatever you do, DO NOT visit then.

This week Canadian pop stars, Mother Mother, continue a very awesome North American tour. Your new favourite band not only has a library of great tunes, they also have a stellar line-up of merch. Produced with the upmost love and affection by your friends at LC, the merch features MM's signature array or bright colours and bold graphics (designed by the band, incidentally). If you can't make it out to a Mother Mother gig near you, may we suggest visiting their on-line store? Pick up some great new music, a snazzy new T-shirt, or completely refresh your wardrobe. It's what we'd do, if we were you.

This month, Johnny Reid, aka Canada's favourite country music artist, launched two new souvenir scarves (coincidentally developed by your pals at LC). The scarves, available at the Johnny Reid on-line store, feature a tartan pattern (to celebrate Johnny's Scottish roots) and are carefully made with acrylic wool (to celebrate his more recently acquired Canadian heritage). If you love Johnny Reid and you're familiar with Canadian winters, you'll agree this is the most sensible purchase of the season. Collect all two!

This week, Canadian Pop stars Neverest tour Western Canada to support their record Lovesick. Cure your personal lovesickness with a snazzy new Neverest T-shirt (available at the shows or by visiting the Neverest on-line store). If you show up at your next social gathering and you're the only person not wearing a Neverest T-shirt, don't say we didn't warn you.

From time to time, we like to produce a T-shirt inspired by something we like; particular sports teams, cool products, random items. This month we're paying homage to the much beloved pastime swimming. It's common knowledge that orange was the second most difficult stage in swimming lessons (behind grey). Now you can celebrate passing orange (and being a friend of Lower Case) in style with this symbol of the greatest accomplishment/worst nightmare of your youth.

The Grouse Grind, commonly referred to as Mother Nature's Stairmaster, is open this weekend (possibly the Grind's final long weekend of the season). The 2.9 KM trail up the face of North Vancouver's Grouse Mountain, is one of the most popular (and challenging) hikes in BC. You can learn more about the Grind by visiting the Grouse Mountain website or by trying it out for yourself (casual hikers beware!). Wearing a cool, LC-produced Grind T-shirt won't improve your time, but it will solidify your position as the best-dressed on the trail. You can purchase one of the T-shirts at Grouse Mountain Outfitters at the top of the mountain, or by visiting the Grouse on-line store. Shop (and hike) till you drop.

This summer, our friends at Tree Brewing launched a new line of super awesome Lower Case apparel. One of our favourite beers (Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale) is featured on this T-shirt, which is a humble homage to the iconic mascot of Canada's Beaver Lumber. You can purchase yourself a Thirsty Beaver T-shirt (among others) at Tree Brewery in Kelowna and, while you're there, quench your thirst with a tasty amber ale (or visit a beer store near you!).

Tomorrow night (Sept. 30, 2011), the BC Lions play their first game at BC Place Stadium since 2009. After a season and a half of renovation, the stadium reopens with new seats, a retractable roof, and one of the largest video display screens in the world. To celebrate the Grand Opening, the Lions asked us to develop a commemorative T-shirt that spotlights the slogan PRIDE LIVES HERE. This special, limited edition T-shirt will be available at the Lions souvenir concessions during the game against the Edmonton Eskimos (while supplies last, y'all!).

Tonight, English indie rockers the Arctic Monkeys play at the Orpheum with Smith Westerns. To commemorate the event, we were asked to produce a limited edition, screen printed concert poster. The poster, designed by Vancouver's Robert Edmonds, will be available at the show tonight. There are only 100 available, so get there early, get in line, and get ready to rock.

Earlier this month, the Vancouver Canadians captured the 2011 NWL Championship with a win over the Tri-City Dust Devils. We'd like to congratulate the Canadians and invite you celebrate the championship in style with one of the very fine T-shirts produced by your friends at Lower Case. Visit the Team Shop and you can look like a champion yourself, only without the pine tar stains.

Tomorrow night, Canadian favourites San Sebastian, kick off their fall 2011 tour with AWOLNATION. Check them out in a city near you and, if you do, be sure to hook yourself up with a cool new T-shirt (produced by your friends at LC, thank you very much). Tell them we sent you and be prepared for a quick, disapproving glare.

In the summer of 2011, Howe Sound Brewing Co launched it's first beer packaged in cans, Howe Sound Lager. To celebrate the launch, the brewery asked us to develop a T-shirt featuring some of the brand elements depicted on the packaging. Now you can enjoy this wonderful beer in the comfort of a fantastic souvenir T-shirt. Brilliant.

On Sept. 10, 2011, the BC Lions played their final home game at Empire Field. To commemorate the occasion, the Lions asked us to develop a T-shirt that highlighted the two eras at Empire Field; August 28th, 1954 - November 6th, 1982 and July 10th, 2010 - September 10th, 2011. Each limited edition T-shirt featured a hand numbered, souvenir football card hang tag. The shirts are available for a limited time in the BC Lions on-line store.
The Lions won the game 28-6 over the Toronto Argonauts.

People often say the world needs more blogs and we couldn't agree more. Well, that's a lie, but we do think having a blog with interesting, relevant content is a good way to share Lower Case news and updates. Now, we can't guarantee that all our posts will be interesting or relevant, but we do vow to refrain from using profanity. So, if good, clean, PG 13 language is up you're alley, we suggest you periodically check in to say hello.
